Girl Pow' er

Well the Dojo scene was flawless. Seinse Vern was fantastic, a natural actor! The self defense class also went well. At least now, the girls have some moves to defend themselves. The confindence gained is also great. Today we did the hummingbird sequence with Angie (great job). Let's keep on schedule and keep reaching for the stars, or should I say kickin',,, you go girls! Dennis

Oh no!

Angie has no Grammy!
I am asking for your collective help. We need a grandmother and housekeeper and we need them fast.
Please call me at home with any prospects. I am doing what I can on my end. We also need a convertable car for Sarah for the White Mountain scenes. Anyone with a convertable out there? we could switch cars for two days, we promise to be careful. Let us know. Hang in there guys, We did some great scenes lately, the magic is still there. Dennis

GO !!!!!!!!! Schedule revised 7/30 at 3.20 AM

Here's the revised schedule so far, check and let me know of any problems:

The major change reflects the loss of our "Grammy" and "Alice" They are sisters and apparently where one goes so goes the other. This is a big blow as it will require reshooting all the scenes we already have in the can.

If anyone knows of a grandmother and a woman anywhere from 25-75, let me know.

I need to move on this quick, as we will loose some actors to school and other committments. The most hit are Nat, Soph, and Kristin. I am very sorry girls, I did not see this coming but know we will make the best of it and come back stronger. Also hit are Eddie, Mike, Ben, Sacha, and Kevin; again sorry guys.
Anyway, Saturday's shoot is cancelled except for Angie. Come around 11 AM dressed in the "Pride clothes" The rest of the schedule will go forward as planned. On Sunday, I'd like Eddie, Mike, Kevin, and Ben to come over at noon to finish the trailer and to schedule the North Country shoot. We then film Sophie and Kristin from 5-8 PM. Why don't we do a barbeque and bring your bathing suits for a swim in the pool.

We have had difficulties before and somehow we managed to make it work. I ask all of you to continue be patient and supportive. You are all great people who work to the highest professional standards. Of course no one is perfect and we can make mistakes from time to time, but we make up for it with a lot of heart and I'll take that any day.

I am so pleased in what we have so far. This twist of fate will put us out a week or more so we are now looking to finish by 8/25. Please understand I will in no way give up on this project; too many people have worked too many hours to throw this away. We will make this work and I expect it will be better than ever. With your help, we can keep the magic in the bottle and really wow them at the film festival. I am so lucky to have found so many talented people, you guys are great and it shows in your performances. You amase me each and every day.

Hang in there guys
Dennis

understanding Becky

Here we have the lovey Kendra. It is so great when an actress comes prepared having learned her lines. Both Kendra and Sophie did wonderful today in scenes that were very hard to do. Kudos to Brooke for a real sinister performance. Thanks to Jenn and Matt for putting up with us. we made magic and the dance is beautiful. I appreciate all the hard work. After today, the Becky dance now has context. we moved beyond pretty to poignant. It is the magic great acting can add to make the characters so much more real. Way to go guys. Everyone look at the schedule. Hope we can get more people to join us at Orchard beach for some fun. Thanks again guys, Dennis
PS, Eddie and Mike, the trailer needs work, if you guys have some time tomorrow, it would be appreciated.
Dennis

Ready,,, set,,,,,

Alright, I'll let one date out. Monday 7/25 at 6 Pm for the Becky bedroom scene. Also Friday 7/29 at 6 Pm for the Dojo scene. Now mothers, daughters, sisters, and grandmothers are all invited for the free self defense class that will be offered. Sorry guys, daddy's girls only. I hope we get a big turn out. Master Vern is looking forward to teaching this class, one of the most important classes he offers (no charge). Did you know we have 11 "offenders" in Merrimack alone! Please take the time to come to this class, we should finish the scene by about 7:15 or so. Come around 7 or earlier if you want to watch the shooting. Dennis
PS stay tunned for the rest of the schedule.

Clowning around at the Playground

Todays shoot was a lot of fun. Eddie got a lot of great comments from the parents who were impressed with his patience and professionism. Way to go Eddie!

I am still trying to get Canabie Lake for tomorrow. They did not get back to me tonight so it will come down to the wire. I hope it works out as I feel it is a safe place and we could go on the rides together as a group to get the shots. We all meet at my house at 2:30 Pm and I hope to know by then. Stay tunned for the new schedule. Dennis

Latest updates as of 7/20/05 at 11 PM

Here we have the lovely Kellie, a talented actress with a bright future. Kellie will be in our 11/12 scene at kids kove on Thursday. We meet at my house at 11:15 AM on Thursday 7/21. Eddie and Kevin will be the camera and sound men. I have rewritten the scene but the new lines are just for sarah (Angie) and were designed to explian the Robin character better. All my 11/12's should be there (you know who you are)

For Friday I need the sweet 16's. We will redo the July 4th shoot. We have to travel all the way to Orchard Beach Me (about 2 hour drive). We will meet at 2:30 PM at my house and car pool together. Bring a bathing suit, we will film by the beach and by the amusement park. If they have no changing area, I'll bring the trailer which now has a changing room in it (thanks to Mike, Ben, Kevin, and Eddie). I need to be back by 11 Pm the latest which should be no problem given the time factors. I have 2 guys I rounded up and Ben is Nat's escort. I have Elizabeth and one other girl covered. Lauren, did you have a boyfriend coming? I am still waiting for a call back from Ryan, but if not, Sophie does not need a boyfriend so the 3 guys may be enough. Carly, is your boyfriend able to come?

Thanks, Dennis

Schedule 7/18 to 7/24 REVISED 7/19 at 11:45 AM

Here we have Sophie and Kristin ready to enter Jamie's Lair. See how much make up they have, this is not good, fortunately our Sarah knows how to get out of trouble.

On Monday and Tuesday, we will be working on the trailer. It's coming along and soon will be our portable studio with changing area. This will come in handy on Friday when we trek to the white mountains. Not many places to change in the middle of the woods!

I need 2 fishing poles so let me know out there.

I have also come to realize we will not be able to make the deadline for Sundance this year. I expect we will finish filming by the first or second week of September and the deadline is Sept 30 for the late submissions. It makes much more sense to submit to South by Southwest in Austin Texas by the end of December for a mid March Festival, then on to the Boston Film Festival in August 2006 followed by Sundance in January 2007. The most important thing is the film comes out as the quality product I know we can deliver.

Now for this week, we will film Act 7 and 8 this Thursday 7/21 at Kids Kove in Merrimack from 12-3 PM. Meet at my house at 11:30 for scene rehersals before going. Eddie will be filming this scene. This is for my 11/12 girls, you all know who you are. (Yeah, that means you Britty and Kellie).

On Friday 7/22, I will then film the sweet 16 carnival scene. We will do the white mountain scenes later in the summer. I needed to change as Elizabeth has a conflict. I do my best on this and Ben (aka Scott) is available on Friday night. I am trying to get Canabie Lake for the shoot. I should know more by the end of the day. I am hoping to get a break on the shooting fee but if I can't we may have to go to another location (maybe Salisbury Beach which is no way as nice as Canabie). Anyway, I am trying my best. All my sweet 16's will now need to be available on Friday. Kristin, I guess your off the hook. Stay tunned. I want to give you guys the most "heads up" I can but know these changes are sometimes just unavoidable. Thanks for understanding. Dennis

Sunday, July 17, 2005

Well we did the "through the looking glass" scene tonight and it went real well. Our Sarah got the vulnerable Becky out just in time! Way to go Sarah. We still need to do the night exit scene and the car scene. Many thanks to Jamie, Jenn, and the many friends who came to join in. Jordan's friends were a lot of fun and I'm glad they made it. Hey Bekka, sorry we were so late, putting an event with all these people is bound to have delays. I hope your dad was not too upset. Keep an eye out for the next scene we need you for.
Thanks to all our team, especially Sacha who was really "in character" but you need to have a bigger bat. We had a great time, thanks again everyone! Dennis

We need to do the Sarah/Eddie dance

Here we have Eddie and Sophie at a break in shooting. The horsing around helps reduce the tension and brings about friendships that I hope will last beyond this movie.

The purpose of this post to to notify Eddie and Kristin that we need to have them do the "At Last" dance. After Eddie asks for her hand, they dance to "At Last" This should not be too hard, just make sure you wear the same clothes. We can film it without sound, let you dance to the real music, and do voice overs and sound in post production. Now I forget, was it Ben or Kevin who works at Fratello's (see what happens when you get old) Anyway, you know who you are, please let us know when CC will let us try the shoot again. I should have caught but I had not slept in over 48 hours by then and I was a bit fuzzy. Sorry Guys, Dennis

Sunday's shoot

Here we have the lovely Tory and Emma with parents Rick and Joelle Shepard looking on. Keep a close watch on these girls as they have the acting bug and both are naturals. They did a great job at Sarah's house, you might suppose taking a nap is easy but with all the lights and people, well, it's a tall order for two 5 year old girls. I love working with them and want to thank them both (and Rick and Joelle) for being in our movie.
For Sunday, I'd like people to get to my house around 11:30. We can go over lines and the "look" of the scene. I also ask people to bring something weird for decorations as long as we have no logos. I am waiting to here back from Carolyn on the "Robin music" but plan to use it and hope I won't have to go back and scrub out the sound later (can be done but it is not a fun job). I also need 2 baseball bats so bring em if ya got em. Guess that's all for tonight. See you all tomorrow, Dennis

Stevens and Mack add their talents to "Daddy's girl"

Steve Stevens and Seany Mack have a wonderful sound that is contemporary and much like the harmonies of Simon and Garfunkel. They will be working with Patrick Lea Hebert who is doing our soundtrack. I am excited about their contribution and for those interested, check out their website at stevensandmack.com. Other musical colaborations include the New orleans jazz/funk sound of Rhum Boogie and the sultry sound of Caroline Gulde. I like the use of local talent to promote them and also because it is new and fresh. I hate to see a movie and feel I have already seen it before. Daddy's Girl is new and true to real life. I beleive our talented musicians add to that flavor we want. They add exitement, enchantment, and originality. I will have more info on Caroline and Rhum Boogie in a future post. Thanks to all our musical talent, the palet is vibrant and the sound will match the cinematic tapestry of the movie. Welcome abord guys, and thanks. Dennis

New email address

Thanks to my internet manager, Mr. Matt Lemoine, I now have a new email address or should I say gmail. I chose: daddysgirlmovie@gmail.com It makes sense to me as it is the same as our blog unfortunately the web site will need another address, I'm working on that. Thanks again Matt, Dennis

Tonight we saw Tanya's Tattoo

Opp's sorry but no picture of the tattoo is gonna be posted, You'll have to come out and see the movie for yourself to see the famous Tanya Tattoo. Much thanks to Mike for the camera work and to Kristin, Elizabeth, Sophie, and of course Tanya. A great scene. I will be making some changes to next weeks schedule so watch for updates. We still have a long way to go but so far it looks great. Once we can get a trailer together, we will have a streaming video web site promoting the film. I will need help from all of you in promoting the film. Plan on TV and radio appearances in the fall. I am especially grateful to all of you who provide constructive input (it's not critisim). I value your input, particularly from your perspective. Enjoy tomorrow off and you 20 somethings get ready for Sunday! We meet at my house at 11:45 and leave for Manchester by 12:10. We should be filming from 12:30 to about 5 PM. Dennis

Sarah's crazy room

Here we have our lovely Sarah and Becky aka Kristin and Sophie. Much thanks to Jordan and her family for the use of her home all day as we filmed all the "Sarah's room" scenes. By my reckoning, we will have filmed 1/3 of the film by the end of Sunday. At this rate, we should finish filming on the 3rd or 4th week of August. Today was a long hot day and the horsing around helped us all get through the shoot. What a great crew, and what a cool room!
Keep up the good work guys, Dennis

We take over Mike's house on Sunday

The Party scene is Sunday at Mike's (thanks for your house Mike). We need extras and lost of weird decorations, the stranger the better. We will meet at my house at 11:30 AM Sunday to carpool over to Mikes by noon. See ya then. Dennis

Giddy up

Well our Sarah got her filly today, both she and young Becky became "mommy's" to the cutest filly you ever saw which we name "Prairie Fire" Her mother would not let her out alone so this is a friendly chestnut mare standing in. The girls got to bale hay, feed the chickens and pick out the stalls; all in a days work for our brave "farm girls". Many thanks to the Mack family for making this work. Linda, you are just great. I know how much work goes on a farm and to stop work for several hours for us is much appreciated. Hopefully we provided enough entertainment for you. I will need boys and girls ages 10-14 as extras on Friday July 22 from 12-4 PM at the Middle School. If any of your family and friends fits the bill, have them meet us at the shoot. Also a school has teachers so if you want to walk in the hallway or your husband, father, mother, etc. that would be great, again, thanks for everything. Dennis

may need to shoot Friday at 6pm

Tanya is getting her "tattoo" this week and we have a limited time next week with Sophie, the scene is the sleep over 21 group, this is just for "lauren, Becky, Sarah, and Marianne" please let me know Kristin, Tanya, Elizabeth and Sophie if you can make it this Friday at 6 PM. Dennis

Attention cast

Elizabeth pointed out on the schedule for Thursday at Jordan's house, I put in that a comment about the 11/12,16,and 20's. Originally we were doing all scenes there but we are doing the sleep over scenes at my house SO,,,,, only those actresses specifically mentioned are going to be there. hope that helps, Thanks Elizabeth for bringing that to my attention

Oh what we do for art

Standing in place for 2 hours in not all that fun, especially in the water. Still smiling, well that says it all. It reminds me of the banter we have between shoots that makes this production so much fun. We all need to get silly now and then. I also appreciate the willingness to share ideas and to rework lines that just don't work. Lauren thanks for your input last night with my 11/12's. Angela, I am glad you were honest enough to tell me you didn't like the scene the way it was originally written. We modified it so it worked better for an 11 year old girl and I think it works better too. I appreciate every pair of eyes out there. If something you say doesn't sound right, let's talk. If it doesn't look right, we need to fix it. We should all be looking out for all the little details, like buttoning my bottom jacket button at the wedding scene. No one caught it and I only saw it after it was too late. Please everyone, if you get anything at all, I am open to critisim just as I will work with you if I think it is not working right or it is off character. I know we are on a tight schedule but just as we scrapped the shoot last night and spent it instead on revising the scene; I want to do it right and your input is critical to our success. So you are small and only 11?, so what, who better to let me understand what an 11 year old girl is all about? Thanks to all my young sleepover group for your help, we had fun. How does making brownies sound for the next sleepover? Like Homer says, Hmmm Chocolate!
See ya, Dennis

Life at the beach

Great shoot today at the lake. Here we have the lovely Bekka and Liz, their personalities match their beauty! Thanks to Liz and Carly (and her boyfriend) for being such good sports, you were a bit water logged by the end of the shoot. Natalie and Sophie were just great and I liked the improvising, especially when we lost our Scott (what was with that guy?, who walks out on a shoot for an hour then comes back expecting we would be fine waiting for an hour for him!),,, anyway, Ben stepped in (in Eddie's suit) and he did great, thanks Ben, once again we were saved by a flexible can do attitude. Mike and Eddie did great, they are quite the team. We did not get to the 11/12 sleep over scene, just running too late, we need people ready to work once we start, if you do not have a script, email me at merrimackmatters@adelphia.net and I'll email it to you. We also need to move the Sarah scenes along, for the 20's come 1/2 hour early to do your lines, we need to get all the girls home before midnight! I know we can do this, the lighting is already done so it can work.

Lastly, we have some more changes to the schedule. I know people hate changes but I have no choice, especially with some major scheduling conflicts. Please check for he latest updates, this is the best I can do. Again, thanks for all your hard work and understanding

Wedding memories

Daddy's Girls

Well our little Sarah got married today (uh yesterday, keep forgetting what day it is). Anyway, we were running nearly 2 hours late and rushed through the lines to make up the difference. I would have like more time but I think it came out ok. (I may need to do one scene over with my Sarah if I don't like the final cut. I just won't know til I start editing. Hopefully, it won't be any problem.)

We cut our delay down to 1/2 hour by the time we get to the church around 2 Pm only to find out we are locked out of the church. Then the made dash to find another church. I even called to police to see if they had a key! We finally did the wedding at Abby Griffin Park (thanks again to Dorothy our wonderful "Wedding Planner") and WMUR got there 5 minutes after we left to go to the reception. Somehow we were able to make it all work.

The team work is amasing! After what seemed like a very long day (since I never went to sleep from the previous day), I stopped by Mike's to check out the scene for Sunday's drug/party house. It was perfect. I will need some wild decorations so please check into anything wierd you have on hand. I'm a bit tired so I'll make it an early night (3:30 Am), Anyway, I want to thank the guys at Rhum Boogie as they were just great, Also Steven of Stevens n Mack. They will do our "sarah song". Erica, you are the best!, Dorothy, I really appreciate everything you and your family did today, just fabulous! Tanya, wonderful performance, I just can't wait to see that "pracitical and fun" scene. Sophie, you wow me each and every day. Jordan, You played your part to perfection, please email me your address and directions for Thursday, Elizabeth, what a trooper!, I know you have one of the smaller parts but you make the most of it! And Kristin, my princess, so much fun to work with you, your eyes are amasing, even when the camera does not see you, you still give it 100% to help your fellow actor, now that's a professional!

It's getting late so I probably forgot some of you. Please know I love you one and all and appreciate everyone of you! Thanks to my crew, Eddie, Kevin, Ben, Mike, and Sacha. You have become my rock to depend upon. Special thanks to Tanya and Ariel who came out to help. It's all the support that makes the whole production work.

On Monday, the sweet 16's all meet at my house at 4 PM.We can only have 4 cars so we need to car pool. Bring your bathing suits as we are doing the scene planned for last Friday that was a rain out.(Elizabeth, my Marianne needs to wear a two piece with vibrant colors, we also need a two piece on Bekka, the other girls can wear one or two piece but no vibrant colors, Sophie should wear a one piece in black if you have it or a single color, remember what is going on in her life at this point).
We will have a barbeque and I suggest the guys bring their suits as well as it should be warm and if we can get done on time, a swim would be nice.

Monday night is for our 11/12's doing the 3 sleep over scenes. Bring pj's, night gowns, silly socks, leg warmers, and other fun sleep over stuff.

My Sarah got married tonight, ,, better be good to her Eddie, now I know where you live, night night guys, off to bed (oh yeah, I still remember what that is)

Media Coverage

Hey guys, WMUR will be at the church at 2 PM today so if you want to be on the 6 Pm News, make sure you come to the church to get on camera!

I have to give my sarah away, how can I go on,,,,

See ya,,
Dennis

Our sweet 16's sleep over

I have to admit, I was tempted to show the silly face picture but I liked this relaxed shot best. As an update, here is what has happened in the past 2 days: On Friday we had our court room scenes, we had moved them to Friday as we were advised that the court was not in session and we had the room for all day. Not so fast! They did have arraignments and it did take all day. We could not get the judge's robe as planned so we had to run around Merrimack Town Hall to find alternative locations. This is when it helps to be active in town. Our town manager, Tim Tieperman let us use the BOS office in Town Hall and Pat Murphy was my angel of mercy in going home on her own time to get us her son's choir robe. It fit Nelson perfectly, who I must say, was well prepared and did an excellent job as the judge. Hat's off once again to our crew for a wonderful job and to Sophie and Natalie for their professionalism. I particularly liked when Natalie grabbed my hand when the evil social worker was ripping into me, just like my own daughter would, great job Nat. I would be remiss to ignore Debbie's talent as our social worker. Thanks Deb. After the scene, the Mike Milligan tells me my car has a flat tire and any minute the rain will poor. For this, I gave him 3 pizzas to bring to the rest of the force, should have made him change the tire for the pizza, oh well, I'll get him next time. We had to scrub our shoot at Wasserman as I will not risk any of the girls getting sick. We will do it Monday.

Cut to Saturday, Cc is late and I call to find out she is in the ER with a broken leg. (talk about "break a leg") Anyway, I get Erica to take over the role, she leaves her husband (obviously a saint) with a house full of company to come to our rescue (oh bless you Erica). In ther interium, we get Carly and Sophie to run back home to get props and night clothes for the sleep over (pretty good by the picture , huh?). Kudos to Don Foley for arriving on time with a flawless memory of his lines. My sweet 16's were also great in this regard and I loved watching the scene with them, sure wish I was as polished! Well somehow we managed to make it all work and stay on schedule. Now for our wedding! Oh how has my litle Sarah grown, I'll have to give her away, Is Eddie good enough for her,,, I best check out where he lives, check with the FBI, some last minute details before she walks down the isle, now, I do have that hat he was wearing, hmm, maybe some DNA, never too cautious for my Sarah, well only in the movies!

Time for you to shine

The fireworks are in the air! Here we have a shot with the camera crane and dolly on the forth. I definately need a bull horn for crowd control!

I contacted WMUR to request they cover our "wedding" on Sunday. They have the exclusive if they agree to do it. This is the way it must be if we work with media. We will have lots of different opportunities for media coverage. I am also looking to get on the radio and TV shows this fall and will need volunteers to go on "the air". It is never too early to consider advertising what we are doing. We are all working so hard to make this a success. If all goes as hoped, it will make New Hampshire a star along with I hope at least some of you (all of you if I have my way!) Anyway, we all must do our best.

As for Fridays schedule, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will go as planned. Carly, don't forget you need to bring along your boyfriend tomorrow.

Here we have our "Grammy" Jeanne Couturier, isn't it amasing how young our grammy looks? Oh well, you know us Irish, we never grow old; must be all that singing and laughing. Alert for Friday's shoot

Oh when it rains it pours, we may not have the court room for tomorrow. I booked it but am now told it is needed for arraingments. These may be done by noon so this will be no problem as we can use a conference room down stairs and then the court room at 1 pm as planned. But, we may have to do this scene at night from 6-10 pm, I will let you know tomorrow by around 9:30 am. Sorry to do this, not in my control. Hopefully it will work out with no changes to the schedule but I wanted to let you know to keep Friday night open in case.
Dennis

Special recognition of Natalie's performance

We did some dining room scenes yesterday and I could tell Natalie was having a hard time. She hung in there and even though she must have other things on her mind, she was able to get into character and do the scene flawlessly. From time to time, we all have things in our lives that affect us, Natalie showed that you can work these out as a professional has to do. I am so proud of you Nat, thanks for the great work and always feel free to talk to me about anything you like. I mean that for all "my girls" If there is anything I can do to help, I am here for you. Kudos also go to Kristin (oh she loved giving me those nuggies) and Jeanne (our Grammy) for the fine work on and off screen. We had so much fun, I forgot to take a picture. Lastly, great job Eddie! running camera and lights is a daunting task, he did it great and only got burned once. PS, I brought new gloves last night! watch for the additions to the schedule, they will be out later today! Dennis
PS, I'm working on media coverage, the union leader will be out to interview the girls next week. I'll let you know once Dan gets back to me.The church and hall are booked for our "wedding" all are invited!

We're really moving now

Our lovely and gracious Jordan has offered her room as the "Sarah Room" Thanks also to her Mom as we have several scenes there and we will no doubt be a bother. We have our engagement ring (thanks Soph) but we still need a locket, preferably one we can put a picture in. I did not have time to do the schedule yet but do have all the scripts so you can pick them up anytime or wait to your next scene and get it then. I will film at Jordan's home in Chester on Wednesday. This will give her a day to clean it up (hey, this is the real world). We have a production meeting tomorrow at 10:00 AM. We will be shooting scenes tomorrow around 5 PM to midnight. I'll give out more details after I get back from tonight's shoot.
Thanks to all of you, it is coming together beautifully. Dennis

sweet 16's go out to celebrate

Hey sweet 16's, tonight you get to have fun! BTW, this is our lovely Lauren with black hair. Tonight she will be our Vivacious Lauren with Red hair (somehow I'm a bit biased here). She looks great (thanks to Dorothy and of course her own good looks).
All sweet 16's tonight should have an escort. These incluse Nate, Sophie, Jordan, Liz, Carly, Lauren, Bekka, and Meghan. I think most of the girls have escorts. Some of you do not have speaking roles but are walking with the group. Don't worry, every girl gets a speaking part, can't say the same for the boys, but, hey girl power right? Anyway, call me at 603-429-1235 if you need an escort, I have several 15-16 year old boys I should be able to round up for you. I expect we should be done by 8:15 PM so you can hang around for the fireworks.
Have fun, I'll see you later. Dennis

PS, the sweet sixteens will have the complete scripts today. I will also get out a schedule for the week ahead later today after I meet with the production team and hopefully get out the scripts for the rest of the cast later today, if not, I should be able to get to it by tomorrow, watch for the next post. You guys are the best, Dennis

Yawn

Well it was a short day for me, 2 AM and I'm done for tonight. The screenplay rewrite is done and it's better than ever. I will work on getting a schedule out and scripts sometime tomorrow (uh, I mean today). I am working my hardest because I don't dare let you down. I should also note that while others partied this weekend, Eddie, Kevin, Mike, and Sacha were busy making our dolly system for our camera crane. Kudos to Sacha for the Lazana. My crew needs top fuel, donations accepted (hint, hint). We will be at the midway around 6:15 PM but I need everyone here at 5 PM (my sweet 16's) at my home. Liz will be late, thats ok, I sent her the script. The rest of you will be here and can practice the scene while we wait for Liz. We have a lot to do so expect a busy schedule ahead. I will try to brake up the day if possible. For the week ahead, we will be shooting the sweet 16's and the 20's. We still need a Sarah's room (girls room with 2 beds). Out wedding scene should be on Sunday. Ben (sick with Mono) will try to get us Fratello's. If not, it will be a mad dash to find another location. Hang in there guys, it's all coming together. Light, camera, action,,, Away we go, Dennis

Tanya's Tatoo

Tanya aka Marianne, gets a tatoo when she is 21. We only need a henna tatoo that will wash off. This is the kind of crazy thing our Marianne would do.

Does anyone know a tatoo artist who would do this in exchange for a credit in the film. Tanya is fine with it, we just need a person to do it.
Thanks, Dennis

Meet my "brother Michael"

Some of you may have met Don at Friday's Picnic but since number of you could not make it, I am posting him here. Don Foley has an extensive acting career with over 20 films to his credit, 4 theather productions, and he was even nominated for a Best Actor in a dramatic role at SunDeis 2005. Pretty impressive Don, we are lucky to have you on our team. Thanks Dennis

Meet Erica, Our Lingerie Sales clerk

Erica is a seasoned actress who will be the sales clerk who rescues "Dad" at the lingerie shop. In comes our Sarah skipping along all happy followed by Dad who would rather be anywhere else.
Erica has experience in numerous commercials, videos, and in the theatre (Skakespeare's Richard III, and Henry IV; Christmas Tea, and All I really need to know I learned in Kindergarten) to name a few. Welcome Erica and thanks, Dennis

Meet Debbie, our "Social Worker"

I have recently cast some of the "adult" roles and because these were cast after all our parties, I want to introduce Debbie Therrien to the rest of our team. Debbie got the "acting bug" about 3 years ago and has been in a number of productions to date. She will play a ditzy social worker who get's it wrong every time. Sophie, you and Debbie will be in several scenes together, she's great and your great so together you'll be fabulous! Welcome aboard Debbie. We will have another get together in about 2 weeks so you will be able to meet the rest of the cast then. Thanks, Dennis

Sarah is getting married

On Sunday July 10, 2005, our Sarah will get married at Fratello's in Manchester. Since the media love a wedding (who doesn't), we will invite print and broadcast media to the event. All cast members are invited to come and we need parents and non cast members as extras. Also our 20 something cast members (you know who you are) who are not in the bridal party should also come dressed for a wedding. I will be giving the bride away (oh where did the years go). The girls in the bridal party need to contact Dorothy for make up and hair styling prior to the event. She starts booking at 6 AM. (those early hours again). This will be a good opportunity to get some press coverage so I hope many of you can make it to "Sarah's Wedding". Thanks again, Dennis

The "look" of the film

Part of the story of Daddy's Girl is told in the cinematography. When we spend an hour or two just setting up for a shot, it is because many elements go into making the film look consistent and warm. It can be frustrating for you actors but be assured, it is necessary to make sure you look your best. It will also mean much of teh filming will be in the early morning (need to be here by 5:30 AM and later in the afternoon 4 PM and beyond). Light comes in a spectrum, all together it is white but if you bend it (say in a prisim) you can separate the individual colors. That is what we do by filming at these times of the day. The Human eye adjusts for these changes but the camera picks them up and so our pallet becomes richer. So grin and bear the delays and early hours, it is for our "look", the warm feeling you get not only by the story but by it's images. You guys are the best, thanks, Dennis

Saturday, July 02, 2005

It's all the "little things"

No detail is too small. Here we have our "young Sarah" aka Angela. We will have several pictures in the house with her in the frame. We also need pictures from Natalie and Kristin for ages 11-15 and 15-22 respectfully. We also need young Becky pictures from Kendra (ages 2-11) and Sophie (12-17).
I would also like donations from all the girls in terms of decorations for "Sarah's room" A favorite blanket, pillow, curio, toy, doll, doll house, etc. In this way, you can all be there, well sort of. Hang in there guys, fasten your seatbeats as it will get bumpy as we go faster on this roller coaster, but oh, how fun the ride will be. I am so proud of each and every one of you. We have a great team. Thanks, Dennis.

Self defense class to be offered

What's around the bend? Sometimes you don't know. Just in case, we will have a class in self defense at the Dojo we will use for the film. It will be sometime next week. Watch for the schedule on Monday July 4th. All my girls (Hey I am the dad afterall) are invited to this class to learn basis self defense. Mom's and sisters too, only girls are allowed, sorry guys, you'll have to have one of "Daddy's girls" with you to protect you around the bend. It should be fun and I hope many of you will come. Thanks Dennis

Kudos to Sophie

Our Sophie aka "Becky" has been getting great press lately. She has been kind enough to share billing with us and has promoted our film. Way to go Sophie! If we are to be sucessful, we need to get the word out. We will be filming the wedding sequence on July 10 at 10 AM and will invite WMUR and print media. Everyone is encouraged to come to "wish our bride success" Also "Becky" gets to catch the bouquet! Advertising is important, we need to work together to make this a success. If you know of any venue, call me. Also if you speak to the media, don't forget to give us a plug, just like our Sophie did. Thanks Dennis

Items needed for Daddy's girl

Hi Guys, we need a late model convertible car for Sarah to drive. A volkswagen Bug would be cute or a miata. We also need a girls bedroom with 2 beds for filming. We also need extra's ages 10-21, a front portch, a girls/womans clothing store (privately owned) for the scene when Sarah goes shopping for her first bra, a location for the Frat house scene, a bridal gown, bridemaids dresses, a priest costume, a police officer uniform (just has to appear right), a walker, a help in feeding my camera crew. Lastly, we need a baby 1 week-4 months.

Call me if you can help with any of the above. Schedules for the coming week should be available by July 4th. Thanks guys, you're the best. Dennis

Thanks for all the help

In any movie production, there is always a need for people to help out. I am very pleased that I have so many people who have helped me. Particular mention goes to Dorothy Weithman who stepped in as our Fashion Designer/Hair stylist/Make up artist. Dorothy, thank you so much. I also would be remiss if I did not mention Michael Bergeron, our Key Grip/Sound Man, Eddie Frafeschi, our Cinemetographer/Lead Actor, and Kevin, Shasha and Ben our key Production assistants. I would also like to thank Jennifer Lemoine for all of her help and support and lastly to my computer wizard friend who helped me set up this blog, Matt Lemoine. Thank you one and all. I could go on as everyone has been helpful but I hope you get the idea. Thanks guys and here's to a great start! Dennis

Daddy's Girls at the Pride Game

This is the first day of shooting. It was 101 degrees in the shade! You could fry an egg on your car! What troopers!
